Welcome! Meet Pastor Education Service About Grace About the LCMS Media Archive

Greetings

Thanks for visiting our site and for letting me introduce myself to you.

My name is Andrew Fields.  I've served as the pastor at Grace Lutheran since August 2002.  My wife, Heidi, and I moved to Atlanta from St. Louis, where I attended Concordia Seminary in preparation for pastoral ministry.  We have four children:  Mark, 6; Joanna, 4; Elizabeth, 2; and Timothy, who was just born in September.

I grew up in North Dakota, Meridian, Mississippi and in Denver, Colorado, where my father served Lutheran congregations as a parish pastor and my mother taught as a Lutheran school teacher.  My folks grew up in northern Indiana, which is where I went to college.  I'm a proud 1993 graduate of Valparaiso University.  Prior to beginning my seminary education, I served four years as an English teacher and volunteer missionary in Taipei, Taiwan.

I like to read and run and coach my son's baseball team.  I also like to eat out with my wife at the restaurants in the neighborhood of our church.  We are growing to love Atlanta; I'm even growing to like the Braves.

I hope to meet you in person.  Until then, the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you!
