Welcome to Grace Lutheran!
Grace is a small, strong and growing Lutheran congregation of Christians located in the Virginia Highlands, east of downtown Atlanta, Georgia. We're glad you found us online and hope to meet you in person on Sunday mornings at eleven for worship.
Our Mission
As a community of God's people in Atlanta's Virginia-Highland and Morningside neighborhoods, Grace Lutheran Church is called to lead people to Jesus that together we may follow him through death and into resurrected life, beginning now and for eternity.
Sunday Morning Sermon Series: Talking the Walk
During the summer months we're taking time to read St. Paul's letter to the Romans, one of the most important books in all of Scripture. The goal of the series is to bring to life some of the key terms St. Paul uses to articulate the Christian faith. Each week the sermon will focus on a different word that is in danger of losing its meaning either because of overuse, or lack of use, or use in other contexts. These words are like suitcases that carry the love of God in Christ as we make our way in life. As we unpack their meaning and we pray that the Spirit of God would unleash again the power of the gospel that enables us to trust our Lord and follow him more nearly, to walk the talk God has given to us through St. Paul.
Lutheran Information Class
Pastor Fields has begun teaching a class on Lutheran Christianity. The class is held during the Sunday school hour (9:45-10:45). While the class is for those preparing for communicant membership at Grace, all are welcome and encouraged to join, whether you are interested in finding out more about Christianity and Lutheran distinctives, or whether you wish to gain a deeper appreciation of the core doctrines of your faith.
